The Situation
If we take a look around Eldoret area through the farmers land, there are 5 or 6 housing models that are apparently established and prevailing. We would like to hereby give you a little insight into the rural Kenya.
• The Traditional huts
• Family farms on the countryside
• House series brands VERY Easy
• Bigger multi storey many family houses
• Modern one family home settlements
• Town residential houses and town houses.
All these types have something in common. They are often located far from place of work in Town. Since the prices in town are high, everything else moves itself on the tangents. The residents of these houses, one family houses often have no cars and they are dependent on the small buses “matatus” which are available all over the country.
If a for a journey by a matatu costs for example KSHS 50, then this is about 3000 KSH per month, which the employee must finance.
